Honda accord not starting cranks but no start. Possible fix

Honda accord not starting. Cranks (starter turns) but the engine does not run.

If you replaced your original Honda ignition key with a duplicate not form the dealer, this could cause your car not to start. This antitheft function ensures that duplicate keys will not start your car if stolen.

Your Honda Key has a chip which is programmed to work with your car only so if this is missing or broken, you will have this issue of your car cranking but not starting.

In the event that you have the original key but it still will not start but cranks, have your key checked out by an authorized Honda dealer to determine if it is the issue.

This is just one possibility of a car not starting. Others may be your spark plugs, ingestion cap, fuel pump or bad battery.

If your car will not start, it may be time for a tune-up.
